Basics of Dog Nail Trimming
Nail trimming can be tricky business and many people are afraid of trying it. If you have an understanding of how the nail and quick (the blood line) grow in relation to each other and what to look for in cutting dog toe nails, you can do it safely. The pcture at the left illustrates how the quick and the nail grow. If the nails are not trimmed back on a regular basis, the quick continues to grow also until it is very close to the end of the nail. This is when it gets tricky.
